All of our staff and volunteers are led and supported by our senior management team who are dedicated to providing the highest quality care possible.

Sue Cawthray – Chief Executive


I have worked within the elderly sector for over 25 years including hands on support and care, business management and strategic planning, marketing and fund raising.  I have obtained a combination of practical skills, commitment with vision and enthusiasm and this has enabled me to work at Board level, on management committees and with other health bodies, stakeholders as well as working within local communities. I am passionate about support and care of the elderly and their relatives and in particular, my specialist areas are dementia, nutrition and hydration.  I believe that it is paramount that older people are provided with a service where they live well with dignity, respect and choice. For the last 13 years, I have been the Chief Executive at Harrogate Neighbours.  In my spare time, I am a trustee on two local Leeds based charities, and I enjoy cake decorating, singing with my local choir and spending time with my family.

 Louise Swart – Scheme Manager at The Cuttings

I started working for Harrogate Neighbours in October 2007 and I became the Scheme Manager in 2011. I am responsible for the support & well-being of the tenants that live at The Cuttings and oversee the day-to-day running of the scheme. I originally qualified in 1984 as a State Registered Nurse. I love every aspect of my job and making a valuable difference to all the tenants in my care. HNHA is a fantastic company to work for; we are a forward thinking organisation and we are always looking at how we can improve the lives for those that we care for.

Denise McEvoy – Head of Care Services

I started working for HNHA in October 2017; I am the Home Manager for Heath Lodge caring for 28 elderly residents. I have over 30 year experience in care with 26 years in management. We have a very diverse staff team in place to ensure the residents needs and wishes are met to the highest standard. I have worked for both the public and private sector but this is my first time working for a charity. HNHA is a great Company to work for and people at all levels are valued equally for their contribution.

Anne Hardaker – Head of Finance

I started working for HNHA in June 2019.  I am the Head of Finance for the organisation, with over 30 years of accounting/financial experience and I oversee the Finance Department.  Outside of work, I enjoy nothing more than spending time with my family and friends.  I enjoy the theatre, eating out and socialising.   I love to travel and my passport is a very treasured possession.  HNHA is a fantastic company to work for and I thrive on being part of a team that really can enrich a person’s life on a daily basis.
